Note By default, the accesscontrol list for the NTPservice isempty, which meansthat all
downstream hosts connected to the IX20 device can use the NTPservice.
6. Enable Fall back to local clock to allow the device'slocal system clock to be used as backup
time source.
7. (Optional) Add upstream NTPservers that the device will use to synchronize its time. The
default setting is time.devicecloud.com.

To change the default value of the NTPserver:
a. Click NTP servers.
b. For Server, type a new server name.

To add an NTP server:
a. Click NTP servers.
b. For Add Server, click .
c. For Server, enter the hostname of the upstream NTP server that the device will use
to synchronize its time.
d. Click to add additional NTPservers. If multiple servers are included, servers are
tried in the order listed until onesucceeds.
Note This list is synchronized with the list of servers included with NTPclient configuration,
and changes made to one will be reflected in the other. See Configure the system time for
more information about NTPclient configuration.
8. (Optional) Configure the system time zone. The default is UTC.
a. Click System >Time
b. Select the Timezone for the location of your IX20 device.
9. Click Apply to savethe configuration and apply the change.
Command line
1. Select the device in Remote Manager and click Actions> Open Console, or log into the IX20
local command line as a user with full Admin access rights.
Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection
menu. Type admin to accessthe Admin CLI.
2. At the command line, type config to enter configuration mode:
> config

3. Enable the ntp service:
(config)> service ntp enable true
(config)>
4. (Optional) Add an upstream NTPserver that the device will use to synchronize its time to the
appropriate location in the list of NTP servers. The default setting is time.devicecloud.com.
