authentication and authorization management for users who connect to the device. With LDAP
support, the IX20 device acts as an LDAPclient, which sendsuser credentials and connection
parameters to an LDAPserver. The LDAPserver then authenticatesthe LDAPclient requestsand sends
back a response message to the device.
When you are using LDAPauthentication, you can haveboth local users and LDAPusersable to log in
to the device. To use LDAPauthentication, you must set up a LDAPserver that is accessible by the
IX20 device prior to configuration. The processof setting up a LDAPserver varies by the server
environment.
