Using SNMP Contexts to Access Specific MIBs
Bydefault,whenoperatingfromtheswitchCLI,D‐SeriesdevicesallowaccesstoallSNMPMIBs
orcontexts.AcontextisacollectionofMIBobjects,oftenassociatedwithaparticularphysicalor
logicaldevice.
Ifnooptionalcontextparametersare configuredforv1andv2“community”namesandv3
“user”
groups,thesegroupsareabletoaccessallSNMPMIBobjectswheninswitchmode.
SpecifyingacontextparameterwhensettingupSNMPusergroupwouldpermitorrestrictthe
group’sswitchmanagementaccesstotheMIB(s)specifiedbythecontext(MIBobjectID)value.
