Usage
IfdynamicegressisenabledforaparticularVLAN,whenaportreceivesaframetaggedwiththat
VLAN’sID,theswitchwilladdthereceivingporttothatVLAN’segresslist.Dynamicegressis
disabledontheD‐Seriesbydefault.
Forexample,assumeyouhave20AppleTalkuserson
yournetworkwhoare mobileusers(thatis,
usedifferentportseveryday),butyouwanttokeeptheAppleTalktrafficisolatedinitsown
VLAN.YoucancreateanAppleTalkVLANwithaVLANID of55withaclassificationrulethatall
AppleTalktrafficgetstaggedwithVLANID
55.Then,youenabledynamicegressforVLAN55.
Now,whenanAppleTalkuserplugsintoport
ge.3.5andsendsanAppleTalkpacket,theswi tch
willtagthepackettoVLAN55andalsoaddport
ge.3.5toVLAN55’segresslist,whichallowsthe
AppleTalkusertoreceiveAppleTalktraffic.
