On an interface or service template enabled with portal fail-permit for a portal authentication server
and portal Web servers, portal authentication becomes disabled in either of the following conditions:
All portal Web servers are unreachable.
The specified portal authentication server is unreachable.
Portal authentication resumes when the specified portal authentication server and a minimum of one
portal Web server becomes reachable. After portal authentication resumes, users who failed portal
authentication and unauthenticated portal users need to pass authentication to access network
resources. Portal users who have passed authentication can continue accessing network resources.
On the same interface or service template, the portal Web server is unreachable when both the
primary and backup portal Web servers are unreachable.
Before you configure this feature for a service template, make sure the service template is disabled.
