Control of Paper Size
Paper size switch assembly The switches in this assembly send signals that
indicates the paper size setting of the tray. Cams in the bottom of the tray are
positioned by the tray’s end guide. At pre-defined paper lengths, actuators on
the side of the tray close or open the switches in a pattern that is defined in
the printer to correspond to one of the pre-set media sizes.
The following table provides the ON (1) or OFF (0) states of the switches in
the paper size switch assembly, corresponding to the paper sizes of the paper
tray.

The switches in the paper size switch assembly are denoted by “SW1”,
“SW2”, “SW3”, and “SW4”, respectively, from the front side.
