25.12 Nexus Crossbar eDMA Interface (NXDM)
The third module of the MPC5553/MPC5554 NDI interface is the e200z6 eDMA Nexus module (NXDM)
which is compliant with the Class 3 defined data trace feature of the IEEE-ISTO 5001-2003 standard.
The NXDM can be programmed to trace data accesses for the eDMA module on the system bus. This
eDMA module as well as the Nexus module are components of the e200z6 platform. All output messages
and register accesses are compliant with the protocol defined in the IEEE-ISTO 5001 standard.
NOTE
Throughout this section references are made to the auxiliary port and its
specific signals, such as MCKO, MSEO[1:0], MDO[12:0] and others. In
actual use the MPC5553/MPC5554 NPC module arbitrates the access of the
single auxiliary port. To simplify the description of the function of the
NXDM module, the interaction of the NPC is omitted and the behavior
described as if the module has its own dedicated auxiliary port. The
auxiliary port function is fully described in Section 25.2, “External Signal
Description.”
