14.1 Introduction
This fast Ethernet control chapter of the MPC5553/MPC5554 reference manual provides a feature-set
overview, a functional block diagram, and transceiver connection information for both the 10 and
100 Mbps MII (media independent interface), as well as the 7-wire serial interface. Additionally, detailed
descriptions of operation and the programming model are included.
NOTE
The information in this chapter applies only to the MPC5553 device. The
MPC5554 device does not have an FEC block.
