10.4 V/f characterisc control for asynchronous motor (VFC open loop)
The V/f characterisc control is a motor control for convenonal frequency inverter applica-
ons. It is based on a simple and robust control mode for the operaon of asynchronous
motors with a linear or square-law load torque characterisc (e.g. fan). Because of the mini-
mal parameterisaon eort, such applicaons can be commissioned easily and quickly.
Precondions
The V/f characterisc control is only suitable for asynchronous motors.
If you want to actuate a drive with a square-law V/f characterisc: Please always check
whether the corresponding drive is suitable for operaon with a square-law V/f character-
isc!
Set the motor data according to the informaon on the nameplate of the motor. 4Motor

10.4.1 Required commissioning steps
1.
Acvate motor control type: 0x2C00 (P300.00) = "V/f characterisc control (VFC open
loop) [6]".
2.
Set liming factors for the V/f characterisc:

Rated mains voltage 0x2540:001 (P208.01)
2.
Minimum frequency 0x2915 (P210.00)
3.
Maximum frequency 0x2916 (P211.00)
3.
Set V/f characterisc data:
1.
Base voltage 0x2B01:001 (P303.01)
2.
Base frequency 0x2B01:002 (P303.02)
4.
Select a characterisc shape suitable for the applicaon in 0x2B00 (P302.00).
5.
Oponal sengs:
Set voltage boost ^ 182
Set slip compensaon ^ 183
Set oscillaon damping ^ 184
Opmising the stalling behaviour ^ 185
Flying restart circuit ^ 188
Addive voltage impression ^ 190

Oponal: carry out opmisaon of the control circuits.
An opmisaon of the control circuits is not mandatory for this motor control type but
may lead to beer control operaon. The control parameters should always be calcula-
ted if the motor power does not correspond to the inverter power in order to achieve
opmum performance from the slip compensaon. (It is sucient to carry out the
"NonEnergized" calculaon.)
