10.4 V/f characterisc control for asynchronous motor (VFC open loop)
The V/f characterisc control is a motor control for convenonal frequency inverter applica-
ons. It is based on a simple and robust control mode for the operaon of asynchronous
motors with a linear or square-law load torque characterisc (e.g. fan). Because of the mini-
mal parameterisaon eort, such applicaons can be commissioned easily and quickly.
Precondions
•
The V/f characterisc control is only suitable for asynchronous motors.
•
If you want to actuate a drive with a square-law V/f characterisc: Please always check
whether the corresponding drive is suitable for operaon with a square-law V/f character-
isc!
•
Set the motor data according to the informaon on the nameplate of the motor. 4Motor

10.4.1 Required commissioning steps
1.
Acvate motor control type: 0x2C00 (P300.00) = "V/f characterisc control (VFC open
loop) [6]".

Set liming factors for the V/f characterisc:

Rated mains voltage 0x2540:001 (P208.01)

Minimum frequency 0x2915 (P210.00)

Maximum frequency 0x2916 (P211.00)

Set V/f characterisc data:

Base voltage 0x2B01:001 (P303.01)

Base frequency 0x2B01:002 (P303.02)

Select a characterisc shape suitable for the applicaon in 0x2B00 (P302.00).

Oponal: carry out opmisaon of the control circuits.

An opmisaon of the control circuits is not mandatory for this motor control type but
may lead to beer control operaon. The control parameters should always be calcula-
ted if the motor power does not correspond to the inverter power in order to achieve
opmum performance from the slip compensaon. (It is sucient to carry out the
"NonEnergized" calculaon.)
