10.8.3 Overcurrent monitoring
This funcon monitors the instantaneous value of the motor current and serves as motor pro-
tecon.
WARNING!
With an incorrect parameterisaon, the maximum permissible motor current may be excee-
ded in the process.
Possible consequences: irreversible damage of the motor.
Avoid motor damages by using the overcurrent monitoring funcon as follows:
The seng of the threshold for the overcurrent monitoring in 0x2D46:001 (P353.01) must
be adapted to the connected motor.
Set the maximum output current of the inverter in 0x6073 (P324.00) much lower than the
threshold for overcurrent monitoring.

The inverter monitors its output current. This monitoring is independent of the maximum
overload current seng. 4Maximum overload current of the inverter^ 240
If the instantaneous value of the motor current exceeds the threshold set in 0x2D46:001
(P353.01), the response set in 0x2D46:002 (P353.02) takes place.
With the seng 0x2D46:002 (P353.02) = "No response [0]", the monitoring funcon is
deacvated.
The threshold for the overcurrent monitoring is preset to four mes the rated motor current.
This preseng is overwrien in case a motor in the engineering tool is selected from the
"motor catalog" or the automac idencaon or calibraon of the motor data is carried out.
For a suitable protecon, the automacally adapted seng should be used. If disturbances
occur during operaon, the value can be increased.

set in 0x2D46:002 (P353.02) is eected for the purpose of motor pro-
tecon.
The parameter is calculated and set in the course of the automac
idencaon of the motor.
The parameter can also be set and overwrien by selecng a motor
from the "motor catalogue" of the engineering tool or performing an
automac calibraon of the motor.
