10.4.8 Torque limitaon seng
Intro
For torque limitaon in VFC mode, a maximum torque can be set for the inverter. If the motor
torque exceeds the torque limit, the inverter modies the output frequency to counteract this
exceedance.
The quality of the torque limitaon depends on the accuracy of the actual tor-
que calculaon.
Precondions
The VFC torque limiter is only eecve for the following motor control types:
•
V/f control (open loop)
•
V/f control (closed loop)
In order to achieve good performance, it is recommended that the motor/inverter rst be
idened!

Details
The VFC torque limiter becomes acve in V/f operaon when the current motor torque
exceeds the maximum torque. The limiter modies the output frequency to counteract the
exceedance.
The VFC torque limitaon funcons in a manner similar to the VFC Imax controller, but instead
of the total current, the actual torque is taken into account.
When the maximum torque is exceeded:
•
During motor operaon, the VFC torque limiter reduces the output frequency.
•
During generator operaon, the VFC torque limiter increases the output frequency.
