16.5 SNMP TRAP AGENT
Released with GARD Image Software version 8.3 is an SNMP Trap Agent which allows the GARD
8000 to supply RTC (Real Time Clock) time stamped v2c SNMP Trap Messages to customer
monitoring equipment. These messages are triggered by changes in the HMI output bits as defined by
the GARD logic.
The Trap Agent will:
Transmit RTC based time stamped alarms and other events to the customer’s software
management equipment.
Provide SNMP Traps based on custom GARD logic HMI output bit changes.
Support up to five management IP addresses.
16.5.1 SNMP TRAP AGENT IMPLEMENTATION
The SNMP Trap Agent can be configured at the factory but can also be enabled (unlocked) by means
of a “Feature Key” supplied by RFL. This could be done, for example, after a field Image Software
upgrade to version 8.3 or higher. Following are the steps required to unlock the SNMP Trap Agent:
1. Login to the GARD and go to the ‘System Information’ page as shown below.
