Each print head (1) is comprised of the above parts.
• When a small electric charge is applied to the piezoelectric element (2), this causes it to expand
and expel ink under pressure.
• The vibration plate (3) and flow plate (4) apply the ink evenly to the back of the nozzle array plate
(5).
• The ink flows evenly through the ports of the nozzle array plate.
DRESS Sensor
The DRESS (Direct Realization Edge Scanning Sensor) sensor is mounted on the left side of the carriage
unit (shown above on the left cover with the carriage unit removed).
