Operation
Setting the APL valve
z Set the valve head to the desired maximum air-
way pressure.
Settings between the grid marks are also possible.
Quick release
z Release pressure from the breathing system by
lifting the valve head.
Spontaneous
z Turn the valve head of the APL valve left as far
as it will go.
The dots coincide and the valve head is lifted.
The pressure limitation is cancelled, the valve is
open for free spontaneous breathing and the set
CPAP level is used.

CAUTION
Risk of patient injury
Even with automatic ventilation, the APL valve
must be adjusted to a pressure that is safe for the
patient!
