5.8.3 Greasing the Windrower
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, before servicing the windrower or opening drive covers, follow procedures in the SAFETY
section. Refer to 1 Safety, page 1.

The greasing points are marked on the machine by decals
showing a grease gun and grease interval in hours of operation.
Log hours of operation and use the Maintenance Checklist
provided to keep a record of scheduled maintenance. Refer to
5.2.2 Maintenance Schedule/Record, page 253.
Greasing Procedure
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the key
from the ignition before leaving the operator’s seat for any reason.
1. To avoid injecting dirt and grit, wipe grease fitting with a clean cloth before greasing.
2. Inject grease through fitting with grease gun until grease overflows fitting, except where noted. Refer to 5.1.3
Lubricants, Fluids, and System Capacities, page 249.
3. Leave excess grease on fitting to keep out dirt.
4. Replace any loose or broken fittings immediately.
5. If fitting will NOT take grease, remove and clean thoroughly. Also clean grease passageway. Replace fitting if necessary.
