5.12.2 DEF Supply Module Filter
The supply module filter is designed to prevent debris that may be suspended in the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) from
entering the dosing system. Permanent damage to and premature failure of the DEF supply module can result from
fluid debris.

1. Locate the aftertreatment diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) supply
module (A) on the inside of the right platform by the engine
oil dipstick.

2. Inspect the area around the seal and vent of the
aftertreatment DEF dosing unit filter cap (A) for signs of
leakage.
3. DEF fluid leaves a white deposit when dry. If there is
evidence of leaking, remove the supply module filter, clean
and inspect before replacing. For instructions, refer to
Cleaning and Inspecting the Supply Module Filter, page 334.
