4.3 Operating the Windrower
4.3.1 O perational Safety
CAUTION
Follow these safety precautions:
Wearclose tting clothingand protective shoes with
slip resistant soles.
Remove foreign objects from the machine and
surrounding area.
Carry with you a ny protective clothing and personal
safety devices that COULD be necessary through
the day. Don’t take chances.
You may need:
ahardhat
protective glasses or goggles
heavy gloves
respirator or lter mask
wet weather gear

Protect against noise. Wear a suitable hearing
protective device such as ear muffs or ear plugs
to protect against objectionable or uncomfortable
loud noises.
Follow all safety and operational instructions given
in your operators manuals. If you do not have a
header manual, get one from your Dealer and read
it thoroughly.
Never attempt to start the engine or operate the
machine except from the operator ’s seat
Check the operation of all controls in a safe clear
area before starting work.
Check for excessive vibration and unusual noises.
If there is any indication of trouble, shut down
and inspect the machine. Follow proper shutdown
procedure. Refer to Shutting Down the Engine,
page 163.
Operate only in daylight or good articial light.
