2. Clean around the filter head (A).
3. Remove filter (B).
4. Clean gasket mating surface.
5. Apply a thin film of clean oil to the gasket on the new
filter. Refer to 8.2.4 Filter Part Numbers, page 467 for
recommended oil filter to use.
6. Screw the new filter onto the filter mo unt until the
gasket contacts the filter head.
7. Tighten the filter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn by hand.
IMPORTAN T:
Do NOT use a filter wrench to install the oil filter.
Overtightening can damage the gasket and filter.
8. Properly dispose of used oil filter.

DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key
from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key. Wait about five minutes.
2. Open the hood, refer to 5.2.1 Opening Hood (Lower Position), page 306.
3. Remove filler cap (A) by turning it counterclockwise.
4. Carefully pour in the new oil. A funnel is recommended
to avoid spillage. Refer to 8.2.3 Lubricants, Fluids, and
System Capacities, page 466 for oil specifications.
CAUTION
Do NOT fill above the HIGH mark.
5. Replace oil fille
r cap (A) and turn it clockwise until snug.
6. Check the oil lev

page 335.
