Fuel System
Replacing Fuel Tank Vent Filter
The fuel tank i
s vented by a hose that is connected to the filler tube. The hose is connected to a filter that should
be changed eve
ry year.
Replace the fi
lter as follows:
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove
the key from the ignition before leaving the operator ’s seat for any reason.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death from explosion or fire, do N OT smoke or allow flameorsparksnear
windrower when servicing.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Open the hood. Refer to 5.2.3 Opening Hood (Highest Position), page 307.
3. Open the right cab-forward side maintenance platform. Refer to 5.3.1 O pening Platforms (Standard Position),
page 309.
4. Locate filter (A) on vent line against hydraulic
oil reservoir.
5. Release hos e tension clamps (B) and slide away from
filter. Pull hoses off filter.
6. Position new filterthroughholeinframeandattachtop
hose onto filter. The IN markingonthefilter should
face down.
NOTE:
If filter has an arrow instead of an IN marking,
arrow should point up.
7. Attach lower hose to filter and secure both hoses with
tension clamp s (B).
8. Close hood. Refer to 5.2.4 Closing Hood (Highest
Position), page 308.
9. Close the maintenance platform. Refer to 5.3.2 Closing
Platforms (Standard Position), page 310.
