REFERENCE
O-Ring Face Seal (ORFS) Hydraulic Fittings
1. Check components to ensure that the sealing surfaces
and fitting threa d s are free of burrs , nicks, scratches,
or any foreign material.

2. Apply hyd rau lic system oil to the O-ring (B).
3. Align the tube or hose assembly so that the fl at face
of the sle ev e (A) or (C) co mes in full cont act with
O-ring (B).
4. Thread tube or hose nut (D) until hand-tight. The nut
should turn freely until it is bottomed out.
5. Torque fittings accord ing to the values in Table 8.13

NOTE:
If appli
cable, hold the hex on the fitting body (E)
to prev
ent rotation of fitting body and hose when
tighte
ning the fitting nut (D).
6. Use thr
ee wrenches when assembling unions or joining
two ho
ses together.
7. Check
the final condition of the fitting.
