Engine Speed
The maximum and idle engine speeds are factory set.
Refer to 2.2 Specifications, page 31 for detailed information. If specified speeds cannot be maintained, see your
MacDon Dealer.

Throttle Adjustmen t
The engine sp
eed is controlled with the throttle lever that is connected to an electronic sensor inside the console.
The throttl
e lever in the cab should move the throttle sensor the full range between slow speed stop and full rpm
stop withou
t contacting the console at either position.
If the throt
tle lever is contacting the console and interferes with specified engine speeds, the sensor position may
need adjus
tment. See your MacDon Dealer.

Preventi
ng Electrical System Damage
To preven
t electrical system damage, take the following
precauti
ons:
• Careful
ly observe polarity when attaching
booster
battery.
•DoNOT sh
ort a cros s battery or alternat or termina ls,
or allow
battery positive (+) cable or alternator wire to
become
grounded.
•Besure
alternator connections are correct before cables
are con
nected to battery.
• When we
lding on any part of the machine, disconnect
batte
ry cables and alternator wire. Refer to 1.8 Welding
Preca
ution, page 9.
•Alway
s disconnect battery ground cable when working
with t
he alternator or regulator.
•Neve
r attempt to po larize alternator or regulator.
•Ifwi
res are disconnected from the alternator, use the
illu
stration to ensure proper connections.

r ground the alternator field terminal or field.
•Nev
er connect or disconnect alternator o r regulator

es with battery connected or alternator operating.
•Alw
ays disconnect cables from the battery when using
ach
arger to charge battery in windrower.
•Ens
ure all cables are securely connected before
op
erating engine.
