44 CHAPTER 1: USING SYSTEM ACCESS COMMANDS
Parameter
hostname:
Enter the host name of the remote Switch. It is configured using the
ip host command.
ip_address:
Enter the IP address or the host name of the remote Switch. If you
enter the host name, the Switch must be set to static resolution.
service_port:
Designates the management port on the remote Switch, in the
range 0 to 65535. Optional.
Description
Use the telnet command to log in to another Ethernet switch from the current
switch via Telnet for remote management. To terminate the Telnet logon, press
<Ctrl+K> .
If you do not specify a
service_port
, the default Telnet port number of 23 is
used.
Related command: display tcp status.
Example
To log in to the Ethernet switch Switch32 at IP address 10.1.1.1 from the current
Switch (Switch01), enter the following:
<SW5500>system-view
System View: return to User View with Ctrl+Z.
[SW5500]user-interface vty 0 4
[SW5500-ui-vty0-4]authentication-mode none
<Switch01>telnet 10.1.1.1
Trying 10.1.1.1.....
Press CTRL+K to abort
