Syntax
spanning-tree msti instance {cost cost | priority priority}
Parameters
Defaults
cost = depends on the interface type; priority = 128
Command Modes
INTERFACE
Sts Port state: root-inconsistent (INCON Root), forwarding (FWD), listening (LIS),
blocking (BLK), or shut down (EDS Shut)
Guard Type Type of STP guard configured (Root or BPDU guard)
BPDU Filter BPDU filter enabled (Yes) or BPDU filter disabled (No)

Field Description
spanning-tree Enter the keyword spanning-tree to enable the MSTP on the interface.
Default: Enable
Version 8.3.16.1 Introduced on MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module
msti instance
Enter the MST instance number.
Range: 0 to 4094.
cost cost (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword cost followed by the port cost value.
Range: 1 to 200000
Defaults:
40-Gigabit Ethernet interface = 1400
10-Gigabit Ethernet interface = 2000
Port Channel interface with one 10-Gigabit Ethernet = 2000
Port Channel with two 10-Gigabit Ethernet = 1800
Port Channel with two 100-Mbps Ethernet = 180000
priority priority Enter keyword priority followed by a value in increments of 16 as the priority.
Range: 0 to 240.
Default: 128
