Storm Control
Overview
The Dell Force10 operating software (FTOS) storm control feature allows users to limit or suppress
traffic during a traffic storm.
Commands
The storm control commands are:
show storm-control broadcast
show storm-control multicast
show storm-control unknown-unicast
storm-control broadcast (Configuration)
storm-control broadcast (Interface)
storm-control multicast (Configuration)
storm-control multicast (Interface)
storm-control unknown-unicast (Configuration)
storm-control unknown-unicast (Interface)
Important Points to Remember
You can only apply interface commands on physical interfaces (virtual local area networks
[VLANs] and link aggregation group [LAG] interfaces are not supported).
An INTERFACE-level command only supports storm control configuration on ingress.
An INTERFACE-level command overrides any CONFIGURATION-level ingress command for
that physical interface, if both are configured.
Do not apply per-VLAN quality of service (QoS) on an interface that has storm control enabled
(either on an interface or globally).
show storm-control broadcast
Display the storm control broadcast configuration.
Syntax
show storm-control broadcast [interface]
