Control Function
Executing and Stopping Ladder Programs or FBD Programs
This section describes operations to start and stop the Touch.
The ladder program or FBD program is executed (RUN) and stopped (STOP) by using the Touch operations, or by
external input with the stop input and reset input functions.
For details on stop input settings, refer to Chapter 3 “4.2 Stop Input” on page 3-48.
For details on reset input settings, refer to Chapter 3 “4.3 Reset Input” on page 3-49.
Switching from RUN to STOP is executed by END process of the ladder program or Scan End process of the FBD
program, and the following functions are stopped.
For outputs during STOP, keep or clear can be selected by special internal relay M8025 (Maintain Outputs While
Ladder Program Operation Stopped). For details on M8025 (Maintain Outputs While Ladder Program Operation
Stopped), refer to Chapter 27 “Special Internal Relay (M)” on page 27-5.
The current values of timer instructions and timer FB are reset. For details, refer to the follows:
- Ladder program: Timer instruction

- FBD program: Timer FB

Also, when switching from STOP to RUN, device states are cleared or kept according to Memory Backup in
Function Settings. For details, refer to Chapter 3 “4.6 Keep and Clear Control Devices” on page 3-53.
Make sure your safety before turning the Touch on and off. Incorrect operation may cause machine
damage or accidents.
Ladder program: High-speed counter, User interrupt, Catch input, Timer interrupt
FBD program: High-speed counter, Catch input
