1.InsertaMicroSDcardintoyourMFD’scardreader.
2.Openthe[Cartography]settingstabintheChartapp:[Chartapp>Menu
>Settings>Cartography].
3.Select[S-63Settings].
4.Selectthe[Userpermit]tab.
5.Select[Saveuserpermitstoafile].
6.Selectthecardslotthatyouinsertedthememorycardinto.
7.Select[OK]ontheconfirmationdialog.
8.SafelyejectthememorycardfromyourdisplayusingtheShortcutspage
[EjectSDcard]option.
TheS-63userpermitfilemustbesenttothechartvendorduringthe
purchaseprocess.
PurchasingS-63EncryptedCharts
Theprocessbelowdescribesatypicalpurchasingprocedure;however,each
vendor’sprocessmaydifferslightly.
1.Createanaccountonthevendor’swebsite.
2.Logintotheaccount.
3.Selectthechartregionsyouwishtopurchase.
4.SendyourMFD’suserpermitsfiletothechartvendor(thismaybepart
ofthecheckoutprocess).
5.DownloadtheCellspermitsfile.
6.DownloadtheBasecellfile(thisistypicallyacompressed‘zip’file).
7.DownloadtheCumulativeupdatefile(thisistypicallyacompressed‘zip’
file).
Important:
S-63EncryptedChartsarelock
edtotheMFDspecifiedintheuserpermit
filethatyousuppliedtothechartvendor.Ifyouhavepurchasedcharts
formultipleMFDs(i.e.yousupplieduserpermitstomorethanoneMFD),
youmustensurethatyousplitthereceivedcellpermitfilesbetweenthe
MFDsaccordingly.
Installingbasecellsandcellpermits
WhenpurchasingS-63EncryptedChartsforthefirsttimeandaspartof
regularupdatesbasecellsandcellpermitsrequireinstallationbeforethey
canbeused.Thebasecellfilescontainthecartographicdataandthecell
permitsareusedtoauthorizetheuseofthebasecellfiles.
Typicallythebasecellfilesandtheirrelatedcellpermitsareupdatedtwicea
year.
Note:
•Basecellfilesandthecellpermitsfilemustbeinstalledbeforeany
availablecumulativeupdatefiles.
•Itisrecommendedthatbasecellfiles,cumulativeupdatefilesandthe
resultinginstalledchartfilesareallstoredonseparatememorycards,
e.g.:
–Card1=Basecellfilesandthecellpermitsfile.
–Card2=Cumulativeupdatefilesandifapplicablethecellpermitsfile.
–Card3=Installedcharts(locationthatbasecellfiles,cellpermitsfile
andcumulativeupdatefilesareinstalled).
Note:
Ifyoureceive‘SSE’messagesduringthebasecellinstallation,proceed
withthecumulativeupdateinstallationandthisshouldresolvetheerrors.If
errorspersistafterthecumulativeupdateinstallationcontactRaymarine
productsupportforresolution..
