Whenthetarget'
sspeedismorethan60knotsSpeedOver
Ground(SOG),ortherelativespeedbetweenyourvesseland
thetargetisgreaterthan120knots,thedirectionoftarget
returnsfromhighspeedvesselsmaybedisplayedincorrectly.
Consequently,thedisplayedtargetcolorsmaybeinverted,
withtargetscoloredredwhentheyshouldbegreen,and
viceversa.
Dopplerdatasourcerequirements
UseoftheDopplerR adarfeaturesrequiresthefollowingdatasourcestobe
availableonyoursystem(e.g.connectedtoyourmultifunctiondisplay,via
SeaTalkng®orNMEA0183).

Blanksectorscanbemanuallysettohidespecificsectionsofyourradar
display.
Thisfeatureisusefulforvesselsthatexperiencefalseradarreadingsfrom
onboardstructuresorequipment.
Asblankingalsophysicallydisablesthescanner’stransmitterforthesector
thatyoudefine,thisfeatureisalsousefulforprotectingcrewmembersfrom
radarradiofrequencyemissionswhentheyareincloseproximitytothe
radarantenna.Oneexampleofthisscenarioiswhenthehelmiswithinthe
beamwidthoftheradarantenna.
Note:
SectorblankingisonlyavailablewithCyclonesolidstateopenarray,
Magnum™OpenArrayandQuantum™2DopplerrunningRadarsoftware
version2.46orabove.
BlanksectorscanbeenabledfromtheRadarappsettings:[Radarapp>
Settingsmenu>Installation]
Twoblanksectorscanbeenabled.Y oucanedittheminimumandmaximum
limitsofeachblanksector;thiswilldeterminehowmuchoftheradardisplay
ishidden.
