Obstructionalarm(legacyLightHousecharts)
TheObstructionalarmprovidesawarningifachartedobject,charteddepth
contourorchartedheightclearanceisdetectedthatconflictswiththeMFD’s
configured[Safetydepth]and/or[Safetyheight]settings.
Note:
•TheObstructionalarmrequiresL egacyLightHouse™vectorchartsas
thealarm’s[Cartographysource].
•Objectdepths,depthcontoursandclearanceheightsarebasedonthe
cartographyinuse.
•Ifanobstructionisnotpresentinthespecified[Cartographysource]it
willnottriggerthealarm.
WhentheObstructionsalarmistriggeredanalarmnotificationisdisplayed
andanaudiblebeepissoundedontheMFD
.Fromtheonscreennotification
youcanacknowledgethealarmbyselecting[OK],oreditthealarm
parametersbyselecting[Edit].
Obstructionalarmparameters
TheObstructionalarmparametersmustbeconfiguredfromthe[Alarm
manager]beforeitcanbeused:[Homescreen>Alarms>Settings>
LightHousechartobstructions].
Thefollowingoptionsmustbeconfiguredforcorrectoperation:
•[LightHousechartobstructions]—Enablesanddisablestheobstruction
alarm.
•[Indicationonly]—Enablesanddisablesthewarningnotificationdialog
(AudiblebeepandReddetectionzoneoutlineonly).
•[Cartographysource:]—Choosetheappropriate(legacy)LightHousechart
foryourregion.
•[Safetydepth]—Specifiestheminimumsafedepthforyourvessel.The
Chartapp’s[Safecontour]depthvalueissynchronizedwiththeSafety
depthvalue.
•[Safetyheight]—Specifiestheminimumheightforyourvessel.
•[Obstructionwarningahead]—Specifieshowmuchtimeinadvanceof
reachingtheobstructionthealarmwillbetriggered.Thismeansthefaster
yourvesselspeedis,thefartheraheadthedetectionzonewillbedrawn.
•[Minimumobstructiondistance]—Referstothedistancefromyourvessel
boundarytothe(virtual)obstructiondetectionzonearoundthevessel.
Thisparameterspecifiestheminimumdistancefromyourvesseltothe
obstructiondetectionzone,in4directions:port,starboard,aftand(when
motionless),fore.Theobstructiondetectionzoneisdisplayedinthe
Chartappasanoblongshapearoundyourvessel,andturnsRedwhen
anobstructionisdetected.
