importanttocompensateforthedistancebetweenyourvessel’sbowand
theGPSlocation.

oincreasetheaccuracyofstartlineplacement:
1.Approachanendpointfromthesamedirectionyouwillbetraveling
whenstartingtherace.
2.Alignyourvesselsoitisperpendiculartotheendpoint.
3.Whenthebowofyourvesselreachestheendpoint,pingthelocation.
4.Repeatforthealternateend,ensuringyourvesselremainsperpendicular
totheline.
EditingandclearingtheR aceStartLine
TheRaceStartLinecanbeeditedanddeleted.
ToedittheRaceStartLine:
1.Selectthelineorendpointsonthechartapp.
2.Select[Editline].
FromhereyoucanchoosetoswapthepositionsofthePortand
Starboardendpoints,re-pingthemtoyourvessel’scurrentposition,or
clearthestartline.
3.Select[Done]tosavechanges.
StartingtheRaceTimer
ARaceTimerisavailabletocountdownuntilracestart.
TostarttheRaceTimer:
1.Openthemenu.
2.Select[RaceTimer].
3.Select[Timerduration]tosetthecountdowntime(defaultis5minutes).
4.Select[Start]tobeginthecountdown.
Important:TheRaceTimercanbesetfrom1minuteto30minutes.
5.Youcanchangethecountdowntimeaswellasstopandresetthetimer
byreopeningtheRaceTimeroptionsmenu.

Racelaylines
WhentheRaceStartLine,RaceTimerandLaylinesareactive,laylineswill
protrudefromtheracestartline’sportandstarboardendstohelpguideyour
vesselonanoptimumcoursetothestartline.AFavouredEndMarkerwill
alsoappearontheendpointthatprovidesamorecompetitivestart.For

Thestartlinewillappeardifferentlydependingonwhetheritisanupwindor
downwindstart:
•UpwindstartswillshowredandgreenlaylinesaswellasaFavouredEnd
MarkerontheendpointclosertotheTrueWindDirection(TWD).
•DownwindstartswillshoworangelaylinesaswellasaFavouredEnd
MarkerontheendpointfartherfromtheTrueWindDirection(TWD).
