TheRaceStartLineandRaceTimerfeaturescanhelpyouachieveabetter
racingstart.Thefeaturesassistyouinapproachingtheracestartlineat
theoptimumspeed,angleandtime.
Thebasicconceptofaneffectiveracestartistoguideyourvesselandtune
thesailconfigurationinanoptimumwaytoensureyouareapproaching
thestartlineattheverylastmomentwithfullpower.Inracesailing,the
countdowntothislastmomentisknownas“TimetoBurn”.
Theracestartlinefeatureshelpyoutodothisbyprovidingavisualindication
ofthepositionoftheracelineontheChart,aswellaskeydata,includingrace
timer,distancetostartline,linebias,andTimetoBurn.Thesefeaturescan
alsobeusedinconjunctionwithLaylinestofurtherassistyouinoptimizing
yourapproachtothestartline.WhentheRaceStartLine,RaceTimerand
Laylinesareactive,Laylineswillvisuallyprotrudefromtheracestartline’s
portandstarboardendstohelpguideyourvesselonanoptimumcourse
tothestartline.
