L aylines—systemrequirements
TousetheLaylinesfeature,yoursystemmustmeetthefollowingconditions:
•The[BoatingActivity]settingmustbesetto[Sailing]duringtheMFD
StartupWizardprocedure.Formoreinformationonhowtoconfigurethe
[BoatingActivity]settings,referto:p.50—Gettingstarted
•ThefollowingdatamustbepresentontheMFDnetwork:
–Wind
–SpeedThroughWater(STW)
–GPS
–Heading
Laylineprofiles
LaylinescanbeenabledfromtheChartapp’s[Laylines]settingsmenu:[Chart
app>Menu>Settings>Laylines].
WiththerelevantSailperformanceprofileselected,laylineswillbedisplayed
automaticallyintheChartapp.
Thefollowing[SailP erformance]profilesareavailable:
•[Notset]—Laylineswillnotbedisplayed.
•[Fixed,Angles]—Laylineoptionswillbeavailableandangleswillbebased
onUpwindandDownwindangleswhichyouprovide.
•[Polar]—Laylineoptionswillbeavailableandangleswillbebasedonthe
selectedvesseltype.
Fixedangleslaylines
Thefollowingoptionsareavailableforfixedanglelaylines:
•[Sailperformance]—Usethisoptiontoswitchtoanglesspecificforyour
vessel[Polar]ortodisablelaylines[Notset].
•[Upwindangle]—Specifythefixedupwindangleforleewaycalculations.
Thedefaultupwindangleis45°Y oucanadjusttheupwindangletoavalue
between15°to70°.
•[Downwindangle]—SpecifythefixedDownwindangleforleeway
calculations.Thedefaultdownwindangleis140°Y oucanadjustthe
downwindangletoavaluebetween125°to175°.
•[Boattype]—Selectingtheappropriateboattypewillprovidemore
accurateleewaycalculations.Onlyselectoneofthefollowingboattypes:
–Sailcruiser(leeway5°–10°)
–Racesail(leeway(3°–5°)
