SARpatternscanbereceivedoverSTEDSmessagingandimportedsothat
theycanbefollowed.
WhenaSARpatternisreceivedanotificationisdisplayedonscreen.
ThenotificationprovidesdetailsabouttheS ARpatternandthefollowing
options:
•[ImportSARRoute]—ImportstheSARpatternasaroutersothatitcan
befollowed.
•[Reply]—Allowsyoutosendanewdirectmessagetothesender.
•[ViewInbox]—OpenstheMessagingapp.
•[Dismiss]—Dismissesthenotification.TheSARpatterncanstillbe
importedfromtheMessagingappifrequired.
OnceaS
ARpatternisimporteditcanbefollowedbyselecting[Follow
route]or,iftheChartappisopenitcanbedisplayedonscreenbyselecting
[Showonchart].

MFDsconfiguredas‘Firstresponder’whichalsohaveSTEDsfunctionality
cansendandreceivesecuretextmessageswithotherproperlyequipped
STEDsvessels.
Whenamessageisreceiveditisdisplayedonscreeninadialogbox.The
dialoguewillidentifythesender,thelinkIDanddisplaythemessage.
ThefollowingoptionsareavailableontheMessagedialog:
•[OK]—DismissestheDialog(ThemessagewillbesavedintheMessages
inbox.
•[Reply]—Openstheonscreenkeyboardsothatareplycanbesent.
SentandreceivedmessagesarestoredintheMessagesinbox.
TheMessagesinboxcanbeaccessedbycreatingaMessagesapppageon
theHomescreenorfromthe[Mydata]menu:[Homescreen>Mydata>
Messages].
