WithcompatibleSTEDSAIShardwareconnectedthemodeoftheAIS
hardwarecanbesetfromtheMFD.
TheAISmodescanbeviewedandchangedfromtheStatusareainthe
Homescreen.SelecttheStatusareaandthenselectAIStodisplayandselect
availablemodes.
TheAISmodeoftheconnectedSTEDscompatibleAIShardwarewill
automaticallybeupdatedtomatchtheselectedmode.
ThefollowingAISmodesareavailable:
•[Normal]—InthismodeyourAIShardwarewillreceiveandtransmitAIS
messagesandencryptedAISmessages.
•[R
eceiveonly]—InthismodeyourAIShardwarereceivesAISmessages
andencryptedAISmessages,buttransmitsnothing(maintainingradio
silence).
•[Restricted]—InthismodeyourAIShardwarewillreceiveAISmessages
andencryptedAISmessages,butonlytransmitsencryptedAISmessages
(noAISmessagesaretransmitted).Thismeansvesselswith‘standard’AIS
receivers/transceiverswillnotbeabletodetectBlueForcevessels.
TheAISmodecanalsobechangedfromthe[AISSettings]menu:[Menu>
Targets>AISSettings>AISmode]andfromtheHomescreensettingsmenu:
[Homescreen>Settings>Responder].[AISmode]
Note:
[AISmode]replacesthe[Silentmode]optionavailableonnon-STEDSFirst
responderconfigurations.
AISmodestatusicons
StatusiconsaredisplayedintheHomescreenstatusareawhichidentify
thecurrentAISmodeinuse.

BlueForceTracking
