Bydefault,thecolorgradientusedfordepthcontoursis[DarktoLight],as
describedinthee
xampleabove.Ifrequired,the[Depthgradient]canbe
changedto[LighttoDark],whichwillinvertthecolorssothatwhiteisused
fortheShallowcontour,andthedarkestshadeofblueisusedfordepths
deeperthentheDeepcontourvalue.
TheDepthgradientcanbechangedfromthe[Depths]settingsmenu:[Menu
>Settings>Depths].

Chartsfromdifferentcartographyvendorswillhandledepthcontours
differently

Navionicsdepthcontours
WhenusingNavionics®chartsdepthcontoursareautomaticallycolored
usingabluecolorgradientwiththeshallowestcontourusingthedark est
shadeandthedeepestusingwhite.

1.Shallowarea—Whenthe[Shallowarea]featureisenabledalldepths
fromzerotothedepthspecifiedinthe[Zeroto:]settingwilluseredcross
hatchingtoidentifyshallowareas.

bluecolorfillgradient.
3.Deepcontour—Alldepthsdeeperthanthedepthspecifiedinthe[Deep
contour:]settingiscoloredwhitebydefault.
Deepwatercolor
ThecolorusedfortheDeepcontourcanbesettoeitherwhiteorblue
.When
settobluetheDeepwatercontourwillusethelightestshadeofblue.
Thedepthcontoursettingscanbeaccessed-fromthe[Depths]settings
menu:[Menu>Settings>Depths].
C-MAPdepthcontours
WhenusingC-MAP®chartsdepthcontoursareautomaticallycoloredusing
abluecolorgradientwiththeshallowestcontourusingthedarkestshade
andthedeepestusingwhite.
