logout
Purpose
To log out a user from the Switch’s console.
Syntax
Logout
Description
The logout command terminates the current user’s session on the
Switch’s console.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
None.
Example usage:
To terminate the current user’s console session:
DES-1210-52/ME:5# logout
ping
Purpose
To test the connectivity between network devices.
Syntax
ping <ipaddr> {times <value 1-255> | timeout <sec 1-99> | size
<short 0-2080>}
Description
The ping command sends Internet Control Message Protocol
(ICMP) echo messages to a remote IP address. The remote IP
address then echos or returns the message. This is used to confirm
connectivity between the Switch and the remote device.
Parameters
<ipaddr> - The IP address of the host.
times <value 1-255> - The number of individual ICMP echo
messages to be sent. The maximum value is 255. The default is 4.
timeout <sec 1-99> - The time-out period while waiting for a
response from the remote device. A value of 1 to 99 seconds can be
specified. The default is 1 second.
size <short 0-2080> - Specify the size of the test packet. A value of
0 to 2080 can be specified.
Restrictions
None.
Example usage:
To ping the IP address 10.90.90.97 ten times with timeout 3 seconds:
DES-1210-52/ME:5# ping 10.90.90.97 times 10 timeout 3
Command: ping 10.90.90.97 times 10 timeout 3
Reply Not Received From : 10.90.90.97, Timeout : 3 secs
Reply Not Received From : 10.90.90.97, Timeout : 3 secs
