COMMAND USAGE
â—† Each index number equates to a port on the switch.
â—† If history collection is already enabled on an interface, the entry must
be deleted before any changes can be made.
â—† The information collected for each sample includes:
input octets, packets, broadcast packets, multicast packets, undersize
packets, oversize packets, fragments, jabbers, CRC alignment errors,
collisions, drop events, and network utilization.
For a description of the statistics displayed on the Show Details page,
refer to "Showing Port or Trunk Statistics" on page 160.
â—† The switch reserves two index entries for each port. If a default index
entry is re-assigned to another port using the Add page, this index will
not appear in the Show nor Show Details page for the port to which is
normally assigned. For example, if control entry 15 is assigned to port
5, this index entry will be removed from the Show and Show Details
page for port 8.
PARAMETERS
These parameters are displayed:
◆ Port – The port number on the switch.
â—† Index - Index to this entry. (Range: 1-65535)
â—† Interval - The polling interval. (Range: 1-3600 seconds; Default: 1800
seconds)
â—† Buckets - The number of buckets requested for this entry.
(Range: 1-65536; Default: 50)
The number of buckets granted are displayed on the Show page.
â—† Owner - Name of the person who created this entry. (Range: 1-127
characters)
WEB INTERFACE
To periodically sample statistics on a port:
1. Click Administration, RMON.
2. Select Configure Interface from the Step list.
3. Select Add from the Action list.
4. Click History.
5. Select a port from the list as the data source.
6. Enter an index number, the sampling interval, the number of buckets to
use, and the name of the owner for this entry.
