Monitoringbasics
●Formeasurementsinorneartheheart,werecommendconnectingthemonitorto
thepotentialequalizationsystem.Usethegreenandyellowpotentialequalization
cableandconnectittothepinlabeledwiththeequipotentialsymbol:
●B850:Theoperatingpositionoftheprocessingunitdoesnotinuencethe
performanceofthemonitorinanyway.
●B850:Topreventanyliquidfromenteringthemodules,makesurethattheFrameis
mountedhorizontallysothatthemoduleswillbeinaverticalposition.
CAUTION
—PACKAGINGDISPOSAL—Disposeofthepackagingmaterial,
observingtheapplicablewastecontrolregulations.
Turningonthemonitor
ThemonitorispresetatthefactoryforaspecicACvoltage.Beforeapplyingpower,
besurethatthepowerrequirementsmatchyourpowersupply.Refertothelabelon
thebackoftheprocessingunit(B850)oronthemonitorbackpanel(B650,B450)for
voltageandcurrentrequirements.
1.Ensureallcablesareproperlyconnected.
2.Turnonthepower:
a.B850:Pressthepoweron/offswitchlocatedonthebackoftheprocessingunit
totheI(on)position,andturnonthepowertothedisplayscreen.
b.B650,B450:Presstheon/standbybuttonlocatedonthemonitorfrontpanel.
Thewelcomingscreenwillappearwithastatusbarindicatingtheprogressof
thestartupprocedure.
Performancecheck
Afterturningonthemonitor,andduringoperation,themonitorrunsautomatic
self-tests.Ifamalfunctionisdetected,themonitordisplaysamessageoranalarm,
dependingontheseverityofthemalfunction.
MessageaboutPDMservice
AfterconnectingthePDMmodule,andduringoperation,thePDMmoduleruns
automaticself-tests.Ifamalfunctionisdetected,themonitordisplaystheServicethe
PDMmessage.Ifthismessagedisplays,donotusethemoduleandcontactyour
authorizedservicepersonnel.
Pre-monitoringchecklist
Beforeyoustartmonitoringapatientcheckthefollowing:
●Acquisitionmodulesarermlyinplace.
●Accessoriesareintactandproperlyconnected.
●Monitorisdisplayingthemonitoringscreen.
●Nomessagesdisplayindicatingthemonitororacquisitionmoduleisnot
functioning.
●Desiredparametersareselectedtoviewonthescreen.
