YoucanselectprioritiesfortheCO2high/low,FiAAhigh/low,RR(CO2)high/low,and
Apnea(CO2)alarmsthroughAlarmSetup>AlarmPriorities>OtherParameters.The
choicesareMedium,High,andEscalating.
Preventingoperatingroompollution
WhenN

Oandvolatileanestheticsareused,preventoperatingroompollutionby
connectingthesamplegasoutlet(gasexhaust)ofthemoduletothescavenging
system.
Scavengingthroughtheventilatorreservoir
1.Connectanexhaustlinetothesamplegasoutlet(gasexhaust)onthemodule's
frontpanel.
2.Attachtheotherendofthelinetotheventilatorreservoir.Makesurethatthe
reservoirtubediameterisatleast2to3timeslargerthantheexhaustline.
Scavengingthroughtheanesthesiagasscavengingsystem
Anesthesiamachinesareequippedwithananesthesiagasscavengingsystem(AGSS),
andinsomemachinesyoucanconnectthesamplegasoutletdirectlytoit.Seethe
anesthesiamachine'suserdocumentationtondoutwhereandhowthesample
gascanbeconnected.
Connectingdirectlytothescavengingsystem
1.Connecttheexhaustlinetothemodule'ssamplegasoutlet.
2.Connecttheexhaustlineonlytoanopenscavengingsystemwheregasis
removedatroompressure.
NOTE
Donotconnectthemoduledirectlytoastrongvacuum
scavengingsystem.
NOTE
IftheE-miniCisused,donotreturnsamplegastothepatient
circuit.
