Temperaturecorrection
Inthelaboratory,bloodgasvaluesaremeasuredandcalibratedat+37°C(+99
°F).ThepH,PCO2,andPO2valuesmayneedtobecorrectedtotheactualpatient
temperaturebecauseanincreaseordecreaseintemperaturechangestheamountof
dissolvedbloodgasmoleculesandpH.
WhiletheEnterDatataboftheLaboratoryValuesmenushowsboththecorrected
anduncorrectedvalues,theViewtabshowseitherthecorrectedoruncorrected
valuesdependingontheTemperatureCorrectionselection.
