Entropyindicationsforuse
TheGEHealthcareEntropymodule,E-ENTROPY,andaccessoriesareindicatedfor
adultandpediatricpatientsolderthan2yearswithinahospitalformonitoringthe
stateofthebrainbydataacquisitionofelectroencephalograph(EEG)andfrontal
electromyograph(FEMG)signals.Thespectralentropies,ResponseEntropy(RE)and
StateEntropy(SE),areprocessedEEGandFEMGvariables.TheEntropymeasurement
istobeusedasanadjuncttootherphysiologicalparameters.
Inadultpatients,ResponseEntropy(RE)andStateEntropy(SE)maybeusedasanaid
inmonitoringtheeffectsofcertainanestheticagents,whichmayhelptheusertitrate
anestheticdrugsaccordingtotheindividualneedsofadultpatients.Furthermore
inadults,theuseofEntropyparametersmaybeassociatedwithareductionof
anestheticuseandfasteremergencefromanesthesia.
TheEntropymoduleisindicatedforusebyqualiedmedicalpersonnelonly.
