●Verylowsystolicanddiastolicamplitudeuctuations(e.g.,
patientinshock).
●Verysmalldifferencebetweenthemeanandsystolicpressure
orthemeananddiastolicpressure.
●Lossofsystemintegrity(e.g.,looseconnectionsorwornparts)
Whyisthemonitorre-inatingthecuff
automatically?
Thecufftargetpressuremustbehigherthanthepatient’ssystolic
pressuretoobtainanaccuratesystolicanddiastolicmeasurement.
Ifasystolicbloodpressurecannotbefound,themonitorsearches
forasystolicreadingbyre-inatingthecuffatahigherpressure.
ThissystolicsearchmayoccuronceperNIBPdeterminationcycle.
Duringasystolicsearch,themaximumcuffinationpressure
willnotexceedthenormalpressurerangeofthecuff.Formore
information,refertothetechnicalspecications.
ForPDMandPSM,themonitormaybetakingacontrol
measurement.IfthemeasuredNIBPvalueexceedsthealarm
limits,asinglelowpriorityalarmsoundsandanewmeasurement
isautomaticallytaken.Ifthenewvalue(thecontrolmeasurement)
alsoexceedsthealarmlimitsthealarmpriorityescalatesto
medium.InManualmodeandSTATmodethereareatleast
foursecondsbetweentherstmeasurementandthecontrol
measurementforAdultandChildcuffs,eightsecondsforInfant
cuffs.InAutomodethereareatleast30secondsbetweentherst
measurementandthecontrolmeasurement.
ForPSM,ifWeakpulsationorArtifactsisdetected,themodule
repeatsthemeasurementuptothreetimes.Assessthepatient
andperformavisualinspectionoftheequipmenttoensuresystem
integrity.
ForPSM,ifcuffocclusionisdetectedduringinationthemodule
mightrepeatthemeasurement.Performavisualinspectionofthe
