1.Removetheaddedadaptersfromthepatient’sbreathingcircuitandgas
scavenging.
2.Checkthepatient’sbreathingcircuit.
3.Removethegasmodulefromthemonitorwhenitisnotused.
Calibratingairwaygases
Performcalibrationeverysixmonthsinnormaluse,onceeverytwomonthsin
continuoususe,andwheneverthereareindicationsoferrorsinthegasreadingsto
ensurethatthemeasurementaccuracyremainswithinspecications.
NOTE
Ensurethatthecalibrationgasandregulatorarefunctioning
properlybeforecalibration.Performannualmaintenanceof
theregulatorasrequired.
NOTE
MakesurethatyouareusingacorrectGEHealthcare
calibrationgas,seetheCARESCAPEModularMonitors
SupplementalInformationManual.Donotuseanyother
calibrationgases.
1.Turnonthepatientmonitor.Formaximumaccuracy,letthemonitorwarmup
for30minutes.
2.Attacharegulatortothecalibrationgascylinder.
3.Attachanewsamplinglinetothewatertrap.Connecttheotherendofthe
samplinglinetotheregulatoronthegascontainer.
4.Selectagasrelatedparameterwindow>Calibrationtab.
5.WaituntilthemessagesZeroOKandFeedgasappearaftereachgasonthe
screen.
6.OpentheregulatorandfeedgasuntilthemessageAdjustappears,thenclose
thevalve.
7.Checkthatthedisplayedvaluesmatchthevaluesonthecalibrationgascontainer.
Adjustifnecessary:
a.Selecttherstgastobeadjusted.
b.Adjustthevalueuntilitmatchesthedesiredvalueonthegascontainer.
8.ConrmbyselectingAccept
9.Ifthecalibrationissuccessful,themessageCalibrationOKisdisplayedforafew
seconds.Ifthecalibrationfails,themessageCalibrationerrorappearsinstead.
Inthiscase,startanewcalibrationbyselectingRecalibrate.
IfthemessageZeroerrorappears,repeatthecalibrationprocedure.Iftheproblem
persists,contactauthorizedservicepersonnel.
