Startingandendingmonitoring
IfaPDMorTRAMisconnectedtothemonitorwhenthetimeisadjusted,themonitor
sendsthenewtimetothemodule.
Aboutcasereset/patientdischarge
Resettingacase/dischargingapatientdeletesallpatientinformationfroman
attachedPDMorTRAM.Ifthisisnotdesired,disconnectthePDMorTRAMfromthe
monitorbeforeresettingacase/dischargingthepatient.
Themonitormaybeconguredwithanautomaticcasereset/patientdischarge
timer.Ifthisisconguredandvitalsignsarenolongerdetected,monitoringwillend
automaticallyaftertheconguredtimehaselapsed.
Thepatientcanbedischargedremotelyusingacentralstationprovidedthatthis
optionhasbeenenabled.ThisoptionisnotavailableinORandPACUsoftware
packages.However,ifthereisapendingautomaticsoftwareorsettingsupdatethat
willtakeplaceafterthepatientdischarge,remotedischargeisnotpossible.The
dischargeoptionwillthenbedisabledatthecentralstation.
Pendingsoftwareorsettingactivation
Ifthereisapendingsoftwareorsettingactivation,itisindicatedwiththemessages
Softwareactivationafternextdischarge/Softwareactivationafternextcaseend,
orSettingactivationafternextdischarge/Settingactivationafternextcaseend.
Whenyouresetacase/dischargeapatient,thisactivationwillautomaticallytake
place.Followtheinstructionaltextsthatappearonscreen.
NOTE
Ifthependingactivationcannotbeallowedtotakeplace
andmustbecanceledforsomereason,contactauthorized
servicepersonnel.
Residualphysiologicaldata
Toensurethatnophysiologicaldataremainsintheacquisitionmoduleorinthe
bedsidemonitorafterresettingacase/dischargingthepatient,dothefollowing:
●PDM:Donotdisconnecttheacquisitionmodulefromthebedsidemonitorbefore
endingacaseordischargingapatient.Youmustalsodisconnectallthepatient
cablesfromthepatient.ThePDMcancontinuetomeasurepatientdatawith
batterypowerevenwhenthemoduleisnotconnectedtothepatientmonitor.
●Bedsidemonitor:Removetheacquisitionmodulesfromthemonitorordisconnect
allthepatientcablesfromthepatient.
Resettingacase/dischargingapatient
1.Disconnectpatientcables.
2.Printnecessarydataandwaituntiltheprintingiscompleted.
3.Selectthepatientinformationeldonthescreen.
4.SelectthePatienttab.
5.SelectResetCaseorDischargePatient.
Monitorsettings,includingalarmlimits,returntotheirdefaultsettings.Allpatientdata
andtrenddataisremovedfromboththemonitorandaconnectedPDMorTRAM.
