Thepatient'sheightandweightvaluesarerequiredfordeterminingcardiacindex(C.I.).
1.Selectthecardiacoutputparameterwindow.
2.SelectDemographicsfromtheMeasurementtab.
3.Setthepatient’sheightandweight.
TheBSAvalueiscalculatedautomaticallyoncetheheightandweighthavebeen
selected.
4.YoucanreturntotheCardiacOutputmenubyselectingPreviousMenu.
C.O.measurementmodes
C.O.measurementscanbetakenusingtheautomaticormanualmeasurement
modes.BothmeasurementmodesallowyoutouseuptosixC.O.measurements
forcalculatingaC.O.average.
YoucanconrmtheC.O.measurementswithin15minutesfromthestartoftherst
thermodilutionmeasurement,soevenifyouleavethemenuthemeasurementswill
notdisappearduringthistime.
TakinganautomaticC.O.measurement
PDMandTRAM:WhenmeasuringC.O.usingtheautomaticmode,themonitor
averagesapproximately8.5secondsofthepatient’sbloodtemperaturebefore
establishingastablebaselineanddisplayingtheInjectWhenReadymessage.
E-modules:WhenmeasuringC.O.usingtheautomaticmode,newmeasurementscan
betakenwhenthePressStartC.O.Serialmessagedisplays.
Holdingtheinjectatesyringebytheplunger,notthebarrel,improvesmeasurement
accuracy.
