Narrow:Intendedforusewithallneonatesandthepediatricpatientwitha
QRScomplexwidthof100msorless.ThisisthedefaultsettingfortheInfant
andPediatricproles.
Normal:IntendedforECGrhythmsthathaveQRScomplexwidthsof
approximately70msorwider(forexample,almostalladultpatientsandany
patientwithelectronicventricularpacing).
SelectingtheleadsforECGanalysis
YoucanchoosewhetherthemonitorperformsanECGanalysisusingsingleleadECG
dataordatafrommultipleECGleads.MultipleECGleadswilltypicallyreducefalse
alarmsandimprovethedetectionsensitivity.However,ifmostleadsarenoisyorlow
amplitude,theSingleleadmodeusingthebestavailableECGleadwillhelp.
Witha3-leadwirecablethesettingisSingleleadandcannotbechanged.Ifthe
measurementmodeischangedfromthe3–leadwiremodeto5–,6–,10–leador12RL
mode,thesettingchangestoMultilead.

3.SelectanoptionfromtheLeadAnalysislist.Thechoicesare:
Singlelead:EkProalgorithmusesoneoftheleadsI,II,III,orV1fortheanalysis.
ECG1LeadisusedfortheanalysisifitisI,II,III,orV1.Ifitisanythingelse,then
thefollowingmappingisused:V2toV6=V1,aVR=II,aVL=I,aVF=III.Also
notethattheSTvaluesareonlycalculatedforthesinglelead.
Multilead:EkProalgorithmusesthefollowingleads:
3–leadmode:theonlymeasuredlead(I,II,orIII)
5–leadand6–leadmode:anyleadassignedtoVa.
12RLmode:I,II,III,andV1.
12–leadmode:I,II,III,andV1.
Relearningthepatient’sQRSpattern
DuringECGmonitoring,youmayneedtousetheRelearnQRSfeaturewhena
dramaticchangeinthepatient’sECGpatternhasoccurred.Allowingthemonitorto
learnthenewECGpatterncorrectsfalsearrhythmiaalarmsandheartratevalues,
andrestorestheSTmeasurements.Relearningtakestypically30secondsorless.The
messageRelearning...displayswhilethemonitorrelearnstheQRSpattern.Duringthis
