Alwaysensurethecorrectsizeandtofaccessoriesaccording
topatienttypeandapplication,especiallywhenmonitoring
pediatricandneonatalpatients.Thesizeandtofaccessories
mayimpactthemeasuredgasconcentrationvaluesatlow
tidalvolumes.Itisrecommendedtohavethegassampling
portclosetotheproximalendoftheendotrachealtube.
Excessivedeadspaceinthecircuit,includingtheaccessories,
maycausere-breathingofgases.Verylowaccessorydead
spacebetweenthebreathingcircuitY-pieceandthegas
samplingsitemayimpactthemeasuredgasconcentration
duetodilutionofthesampledexhaledgaswithfreshgasfrom
theventilator.Toconrmaccuratecorrelationwithmeasured
gasesandblood,checkarterialbloodgasvaluestoconrma
suitablesetupisused.

Neverconnectthelooseendofthegassamplinglineto
thePatientSpirometryconnectorasthismaybreakthe
spirometryunit.ThePatientSpirometryconnectorismeant
forthePatientSpirometrytubeonly.
CAUTION
Donotapplypressurizedairorgastoanyoutletortubing
connectedtothemonitor.Pressuremaydestroysensitive
elements.

ICU,andEDsoftwarepackages.
●E-miniCisnotsuitableforusewithpatientsweighinglessthan5kg(11lbs).
