Systolicanddiastolicdeterminationsarebasedonamathematicalcalculationwithin
thealgorithm.Thedeationmodeisheartratedependent,itistypicallylongerwith
heartratesthatareslowand/orirregular.
Thispatentedprocessofndingtwomatchedpulsationsofrelativelyequalamplitude
andfrequencyateachsteprejectsartifactduetopatientmovementorother
deviationsfromidealconditions(e.g.,cuffdisturbances)andgreatlyenhancesthe
overallaccuracyofthemonitor.
NOTE
NIBPvaluesarebasedontheoscillometricmethodof
non-invasivebloodpressuremeasurementtakenwithacuff
onthearmofadultandchildpatients,andacuffonthe
calfofinfants.Thevaluescorrespondtocomparisonswith
intra-arterialvalueswithinANSI/AAMISP10andIECparticular
standardsforaccuracy(ameandifferenceof±5mmHg,and
astandarddeviationof<8mmHg).
TRAMmodules’NIBPtechnology
TRAMmodulesusetheDINAMAPClassicalgorithm.Thisalgorithmmeasuresthe
meanarterialpressureandthendeterminesthesystolicanddiastolicvalues.The
algorithmexaminespulsesfromthecuffandwaitsfortwosequentialpulsesequal
inbothfrequencyandamplitude.Itwillnotdeatethecuffuntilithasgooddata.
Artifactandfalsepulsesarerejected.
