Changethelterforeverypatient.Changethepatientcircuitatintervalsgiveninthe
circuitmanufacturer’sdocumentation,andaccordingtoyourhospitalprotocols.
Howtopreventeffectsofhumidity
Duringlowowanesthesia,morerebreathedgascirculatesthroughtheCO
2
absorber.
MorehumidityandheatenterthecircuitfromtheCO
2
absorberandfromtheair
exhaledbythepatient.Also,mechanicalventilationwithactivehumidicationsystem
usedinintensivecareincreasesthehumidityinthebreathingsystem.Watertraps
placedintheinspiratoryandexpiratorylimbsofthebreathingsystemareusefulfor
collectingcondensedwaterfromthebreathingsystemduringlong-lastinganesthesia
ormechanicalventilationwithactivehumidicationsystem.
AquaKnotwiththeDualCO2
AlwaysusetheAqua-KnotwatertrapwiththeDualCO2module.Thewatertrap
holds7ccofwater.
ThearrowontheAqua-Knotshowsthedirectionofthegasow.Wheninserting
thewatertrap,thearrowshouldpointtowardthemodule.
RoutinereplacementofAqua-Knotisnotrequired.
CAPNOSTATMainstreamandDualCO2sensorplacement
Alwayspositionthesensorwithadapterinanuprightpositiontoavoidcollectionof
uidsonthewindowsoftheadapter.Largeconcentrationsofuidsatthispoint
