1.Checkthatthewatertrapisempty.
2.OccludethesamplinglineandcheckthattheSamplelineblockedmessage
appearswithin30secondsandgaswaveformsareshowingzeroatthesametime.
Usingthegasexchangemeasurement
Selectingthegasexchangesensortype
Selectthesensortype(AdultorPedi)accordingtothesensoryouareusing.
1.Selectthegasexchangeparameterwindow.
2.SelecttheSetuptab.
3.SelectthesensortypefromtheSensorTypelist.
SelectingEEandRQaveragingtime
Averagedvaluesofenergyexpenditure(EE)andrespiratoryquotient(RQ)update
everyminute.ThebarintheEE+RQparameterwindowindicateswithgreencolorthe
amountofdatathatthemonitorusesforperformingtheaveragecalculations.
Whenapatientisadmitted/acaseisstarted,noaveragedvalueisdisplayeduntil10
minutesofvalidEEandRQdataisavailable.Afterthat,theEEandRQvaluesaregray
untilthereisenough(>1/5oftheselectedaveragingtime)datatoperformreliable
calculations.

historyorusethemforaveragecalculations.
