1.Placetwoelectrodesforwhiteandbrownleadconnectionalongtheulnarnerve.

2.Placetheelectrodesforredandgreenleadconnectionasindicatedinthe
illustrationabove.
3.Placetheelectrodeforblackleadconnectionwhereconvenient,preferably
betweenthestimulatingandrecordingleadconnectionelectrodes.
PreparingtheMechanoSensorsetup
1.Placethetwoelectrodesalongtheulnarnerve.Preventtheelectrodesfrom
makingcontactwitheachother.Palpatingtheulnararterynearthewristarea
maybehelpfulinidentifyingtheulnarnerve.
2.Attachthesensorinthegroovebetweenthumbandindexnger.Ifnecessary,
securewithnarrowtapeonly.
3.Makesurethatthesensorsetstightlyinthegrooveandthatthethumbcanmove
freely.Donotimmobilizethehand.

beanalternativemeasurementsite.Placetheelectrodesforwhiteandbrownlead
connectionalongtheposteriortibialnerve(causingplantarreexionofthegreat
toeandfoot)orperonealnerve(stimulatedbehindtheheadofbula).Placethe
electrodesforredandgreenleadconnectionsiteonthem.exorhallucisbrevis,and
theelectrodeforblackleadconnection(ground)asindicatedinthegure.
